Facebook's former chief operating officer (COO) has invested in an Irish company that helps restaurants and food outlets comply more easily with regulations.
Owen Van Natta, who is also the former CEO of My Space and founder of 415 Investments, will join start-up SwiftComply as a strategic advisor.
The multi award winning company has raised €900,000 in seed financing, with the backing of investors from US-based 415 Investments and Techstars as well a number of Irish and UK angel investors.
“We are delighted to welcome an incredible group of investors to SwiftComply and look forward to leveraging their collective experience to help us grow our business," CEO Michael O’Dwyer said.
SwiftComply will use the new funding to develop its technology that connects the hospitality and waste management industries with regulatory authorities.
The innovative firm also reduces mandatory compliance interventions and eases the burden of regulation on business.
At least six new positions - developers, marketing and commercial roles - are being made available at the firm's Dublin headquarters.
This number is expected to significantly increase in the medium term as SwiftComply is embarking on a significant expansion into the US market.
Max Kelly, Managing Director of Techstars London, has been appointed to the SwiftComply board.
“SwiftComply is an exciting company with an incredibly innovative solution, I am excited to work with its management team as it continues to grow,” Mr Kelly said
